LONDON, England - Duke track and field incoming graduate student Steven Solomon finished in seventh place in his 400 meter qualifying heat at the IAAF World Championships in London on Saturday morning.
Solomon finished with a time of 46.27, missing qualification for the semifinal heats by .57 seconds. Isaac Makwala of Botswana ran the fastest time of the day, finishing in a blistering 44.56. He is one of 24 runners that will advance to Wednesday’s semifinal rounds.
Solomon will be running for Duke this season after completing his undergraduate studies at Stanford.
