Solomon Concludes Competition at IAAF Worlds

LONDON, England - Duke track and field incoming graduate student Steven Solomon finished 38th overall in the 400m at the IAAF World Championships in London on Saturday morning. The Vaucluse, New South Wales native posted a seventh-place finish in the second of six heats today.

Solomon finished with a time of 46.27, missing qualification for the semifinal heats by .57 seconds. Isaac Makwala of Botswana ran the fastest time of the day, finishing in a blistering 44.56. He is one of 24 runners that will advance to Wednesday’s semifinal rounds.

Solomon will be running for Duke this season after completing his undergraduate studies at Stanford.
