Smith Named ACC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year

DURHAM – Duke track and field senior Brianna Smith was named the ACC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year in recognition of her excellence in the classroom, on the track and in the field, the league announced Friday morning. She shares the honor with NC State's Grace Harmon.

Smith, who was announced as an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient in May, is the first ACC Women's Outdoor Scholar Athlete of the Year for Duke since Juliet Bottorff took home the award in 2014 and just the second Blue Devil woman all-time to earn the distinction.
