DURHAM, N.C.—Duke sophomore Brad Smith and incoming freshman Terry Lindsay became the 18th and 19th Blue Devils to bring home gold from the Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s U19 World Championship. The United States staged a comeback for the ages to beat Canada 13-12 in the gold medal game.
Ryan Conrad capped an incredible comeback by the United States, which trailed 8-2 at the half and 11-9 with seven to play, handling Simon Mathias’ pass from behind the cage in traffic in front of the goal, and burying a shot with eight seconds to play to lift Team USA to the 13-12 victory.
