GREENSBORO – Former men's golf All-American Alex Smalley, who graduated from Duke in 2019, posted his best PGA Tour payday of the season by finishing tied for 29th this weekend at the Wyndham Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Smalley carded three rounds in the 60s, including a dazzling 64 on Friday, as the 2019 ACC Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year earned $41,013 with his top 30 finish. Playing on a sponsor's exemption at the Wyndham, Smalley's impressive showing came in a full-field event on the last weekend of the PGA Tour regular season.
