PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C.— Boosted by a final round of four-under-par, 67, Duke University sophomore Erica Shepherd placed third overall at the Golfweek Caledonia Amateur, which was being played at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, S.C.
A native of Greenwood, Ind., Shepherd posted rounds of 71, 68 and 67 over three days to finish with a seven-under-par, 206. She concluded the event one shot behind Emily Mahar, who won in a playoff over Caroline Curtis.
Shepherd turned in four birdies on the back nine to move up the leaderboard on the afternoon.
