SOMIS, Calif. — Boosted by a tournament-best final round two-under, 70, Duke University incoming freshman Erica Shepherd jumped up the leaderboard at the Buick Shanshan Feng AJGA Girls Invitational on her way to placing second overall with a 54-hole ledger of 224.
Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., carded rounds of 75, 79 and 70 over the last three days. She finished second behind wire-to-wire winner, Brianna Navarrosa (212). The Duke product carded six birdies in her final round.
Duke fellow signee Meghan Furtney carded a top-20 finish with rounds of 79, 78 and 75 for a three-day score of 232.
