NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame broke open a tight game in the 65th minute to earn a 1-0 men's soccer victory over No. 21 Duke in a driving rainstorm at Alumni Stadium Friday night. The loss was Duke's first since Sept. 20, stopping a three-game unbeaten streak.
The Blue Devils fall to 6-4-1 overall and to 2-3-0 against league foes. The Irish pick up their first ACC victory to improve to 7-4-1 and 1-4-0 in conference action.
Both teams went back and forth in the opening 45 minutes and shared possession, but neither team was able to really develop a rhythm.
