STRATFORD, Conn. – Former Blue Devil standout Rachel Sanford was selected for induction into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame, with the induction ceremony taking place earlier this month.
A 2007 graduate of Duke, Sanford was a three-time All-America selection for the Blue Devils in the midfield. She was a first team All-America pick by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association as a junior in 2006 and was also a Tewaaraton Award semifinalist that season. The Greenwich, Conn., native led Duke to three straight NCAA semifinals appearances in 2005, 2006 and 2007, captaining the 2007 squad that compiled a 13-2 regular season record and climbed to No.
