WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Duke men's golfer Luke Sample is heading to the U.S. Amateur Championship for the second consecutive year. The rising junior earned one of the two qualifying spots at his sectional qualifying event, held at Essex County Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., with a 36-hole score of 4-under, 138. The 123rd U.S. Amateur Championship is set to be held Aug. 14-20 at Cherry Hills C.C. in Cherry Hills Village, Co.
"It was a fun day out there, and it's always a huge accomplishment to qualify for a national championship," said Sample.
