DURHAM, N.C. – Duke fencing sophomore Brycen Rushing was named ACC Male Fencer of the Week following his home-crowd performance at the annual Duke Meet over the weekend in Card Gymnasium, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Rushing, a product of Carrollton, Texas, dominated the strips for the foil squad as he posted a nearly flawless 11-1 ledger on Saturday. Rushing helped the sixth-ranked Duke men’s foil squad produce a perfect 5-0 showing and now owns 45 wins this season.
The men defeated the Air Force (18-9) and Johns Hopkins (22-5), as well as ACC foes North Carolina (19-8) and Boston College (19-8) to close out the regular season prior to the ACC Championships at the end of February.
