POZNAN, Poland – Competition at the 2018 World Rowing Under 23 Championships concluded Sunday in Poland as head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno and rising senior Isabel Ruby-Hill each earned spots on the podium following the final of the women’s 8+. Cooke Carcagno and the U.S. captured bronze while Ruby-Hill and Canada collected gold.
After a first-place finish in heat 1 on Thursday, Ruby-Hill once again helped guide Canada to gold Sunday with a time of 6:04.610 as the U.S. clocked in at 6:08.040.
The U.S. jumped out to an early lead through the first 1,000m before Canada claimed the lead through the final 2,000m.
