EARLYSVILLE, Va. – In challenging conditions and very early in the morning, the Duke rowing team was swept Saturday in five races against No. 3 Virginia on the Rivanna Reservoir.
In the first event of the day, the 2V4, three Virginia crews (7:28.0, 7:34.0 and 7:41.0) placed ahead of Duke (7:58.0). Next, the Duke V4 fall in a close race with the Cavaliers, 7:29.1-7:32.1.
Virginia’s 2V8 crossed the line in 6:48.4 to Duke’s 7:05.9. After the winds picked up, the UVa V8 clocked out in 6:58.9 and the Blue Devils in 7:19.2. To conclude the action, the Cavalier 3V8 finished ahead of Duke, 7:28.
