DURHAM – Duke men's tennis freshman Pedro Rodenas has been selected the PNC Achievers Duke Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
The Madrid, Spain, native helped lift Duke to its first NCAA Super Regional appearance since 2015 after the Blue Devils defeated UNC Wilmington and Cornell in the Durham Regional last weekend.
Rodenas first claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win over UNC Wilmington's Reece Falck on Saturday on court two before securing a 6-1, 2-1 (ret.) victory on Sunday over Vladislav Melnic of Cornell. The rookie is a perfect 17-0 when playing on court two and is riding a 12-match winning streak heading into this weekend's super regional.
