DURHAM, N.C. - Duke freshman defensive tackle Tahj Rice underwent an appendectomy on Monday evening and will miss the Blue Devils’ game versus Temple in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl on Thursday in Shreveport, La.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Kamal Brakta of the Willis-Knighton Health System.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Rice appeared in all 12 regular season games this season and recorded six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 quarterback sack.
