DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke track & field team kicked off the first day of the Virginia Tech Invitational Friday evening in Blacksburg, Va., with one school record and multiple performances that rank on the program's all-time list.
In his first time competing in the 300m this season, junior Miles Mingo posted the fastest time in school history with a 34.28 finish. Mingo surpassed the previous record of 34.29 set by Daniel King in 2007.
Competing on the women's side was senior Brittany Aveni, who etched her name in the record books as well with a time of 38.
