DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore goalkeeper EJ Proctor was selected the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Duke women’s soccer team into the NCAA College Cup for only the third time in school history over the weekend.
Proctor, who hails from Wilson, N.C., stopped two Cardinal kicks to guide the Blue Devils past Stanford, 3-2, in penalty kicks on the road in California. For the match, Proctor totaled seven saves and owns 10 shutouts on the season, which ranks second all-time on the Duke charts.
The Blue Devils will next face top-seeded Florida State Friday, Dec.
