INDIANAPOLIS – Duke University graduate student Marshall Plumlee was named a nominee for the 2016 Allstate NABC Good Works Team in an announcement by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The 10-member team, which will be announced in February, is intended to shine a spotlight on a select group of student-athletes who have shown dedication to community service and altruism in their communities. Former Duke star Grant Hill, a two-time NCAA champion and seven-time NBA All-Star, is set to headline the voting panel.
As a member of the Duke men’s basketball program, Plumlee is involved in the Read with the Blue Devils program, which seeks to aid area teachers in encouraging children to read at an early age.
