AWENDAW, S.C. – Led by a three-under-par, 69, by sophomore Adrien Pendaries, the fourth-ranked Duke men’s golf team opened the 2019 Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate with a one-under-par, 287, and sits tied for eighth overall at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Pendaries, who is from Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, opened action with three birdies over his first six holes and then closed with 12 straight pars to finish with a 69. He will enter round two only two strokes off individual leaders Charlie Hillier (Kansas), Rory Franssen (Missouri) and Julien Paltrinieri (Kent State).
