CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The sixth-ranked Duke fencing team kicked off the 2019 ACC Fencing Championships Saturday on the campus of Boston College. Maria Papadopoulos and Zoe Superville highlighted the action for the Blue Devils, each capturing bronze in the women’s epee and foil individual competition, respectively. Additionally, the men placed second in the team event.
Papadopoulos and Superville were the lone Blue Devils advancing to today’s semifinals. Papadopoulos garnered the No. 2 seed with 11 victories and faced the No. 3 seed Miriam Grady of Notre Dame in the semifinals.
