BARRANQUILLA, Colombia – Recent Duke University graduate Isabella Paez captured gold in the women’s 200-meter butterfly Sunday evening at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games (CACGs).
Representing her native country of Venezuela, Paez won the 200 butterfly ‘A’ final with a time of 2:11.26. Sunday’s showing marked her second individual ‘A’ final of the meet, as she also reached the top final Saturday in the 50 butterfly, where she finished fourth (27.11).
Sunday evening’s swimming events in Barranquilla also saw Paez compete on Venezuela’s 800 freestyle relay, which took fourth at 8:22.
