There have been two interesting national news stories this week with things in common: the re-hiring if you will of NCAA President Mark Emmert and the frustration of the PAC-12 as it searches for a new commissioner.
The Emmert story is interesting because the NCAA is trying to figure out how to maintain power and wealth with a guy who is demonstrably inadequate and who has alienated people. The PAC-12 is trying to replace a guy in Larry Scott who has screwed up finances and alienated many people.
The PAC-12 has some basic issues: their games tend to come on late for the majority of the US population and they have not been able to get the PAC-12 Network on a national carrier.
