DURHAM, N.C.— On this date in Duke women's golf history, the Blue Devils have won two team titles, while Virada Nirapathpongporn won the individual title at the Bryan National Collegiate under the direction of head coach Dan Brooks.
Bryan National Collegiate Duke's Virada Nirapathpongporn birded the second hole of a sudden death playoff to take individual medalist honors and help the Blue Devils to their second straight Bryan National Collegiate title in women's college golf action in 2002 from Browns Summit, NC. The second-ranked Duke squad fired a 290 in the third round for an 870 final score to win the team title for the third time in the five-year history of the Bryan National.
