ATLANTA – Freshman diver Margo O'Meara placed first in the one-meter diving competition on Tuesday to open the first day of the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships at the McAuley Aquatics Pavilion in Atlanta.
O'Meara, a native of St. Louis, Mo., took the top spot in the one-meter event with a score of 354.75 after placing second in the morning preliminaries. The four-time ACC Diver of the Week recorded the highest score in a one-meter final at the conference meet since Virginia Tech's Kalyea Arnett scored a 355.60 in 2014.
She becomes the first individual champion for Duke since Leah Goldman took gold in the 200 individual medley in 2018.
