So far in the Olympic basketball tournament, things haven’t entirely gone as expected.
The U.S. did dominate China, as expected, but France and Spain, tipped as two teams likely to make the medal round, have bombed.
France got whipped by Australia Saturday, losing by 21. Spain didn’t lose nearly as badly but had a solid lead late only to watch Croatia come back and steal the game, 72-70.
And it was dramatic.
Bojan Bogdanovic hit a couple of heavily contested threes down the stretch and they were shots that anyone would have been proud of.
