Duke Men’s Basketball had two players recognized among the top first-year players in the National Basketball Association by earning NBA All-Rookie team honors. Former Blue Devils Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow were both teammates on Duke’s 2015 national championship team and were selected to the all-rookie team this year.
Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor was the third overall pick in the NBA Draft and dominated early in the season averaging 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. Unfortunately, his rookie season had several off-court distractions and was cut short after 53 games after Okafor suffered a torn meniscus in February.
