ATLANTA, Ga. – No. 9 Duke (33-15, 14-11 ACC) fell to Georgia Tech (29-18, 13-12 ACC), 11-8, on Friday evening at Russ Chandler Stadium, to open the ACC series in Atlanta, Ga.
The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the top of the first, hanging a four-spot on the Yellow Jackets. Alex Stone hit a three-run home run to open the scoring, before Wallace Clark singled up the middle to score Logan Bravo from second, 4-0.
The Yellow Jackets responded in the bottom half of the frame with a two-run home run of their own, 4-2.
