DURHAM – No. 9 Duke dropped the series opener against NC State on Friday afternoon, 4-3, at Doak Field at Dail Park. Sophomore was charged with the loss, falling to 0-2 on the season, after working two innings in relief and allowing one run to score.
The Blue Devils and the Wolfpack traded blows throughout the first seven innings of play, before Jacob Dudan came on in relief of Sam Highfill and halted the Duke threat.
