DURHAM, N.C. – The ninth-ranked Duke field hockey team outlasted No. 15 Syracuse in a 1-0 shootout victory over the Orange in ACC action Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils defeated the Orange, 3-1, in the shootout with Josephine Palde scoring with the winning shot.
For the second time this season, Duke (5-4, 1-1) played through a scoreless 80 minutes forcing the decisive shootout.
