DURHAM, N.C. – The eighth-ranked Duke women’s tennis team took a 3-0 lead, but a late push in singles by 11th-ranked Michigan proved to be the deciding factor as the Blue Devils fell to the Wolverines, 4-3, in Durham, N.C., Wednesday afternoon. The loss dropped Duke’s record to 15-4 on the year and 8-2 when competing at home, while Michigan improved to 13-4 on the season.
“Michigan’s a very good team,” head coach Jamie Ashworth said. “I think we let off the gas a little bit after we were up 3-0. I think some people thought others would take care of it, and they wouldn’t have to.
