DURHAM – The eighth-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team kicked off the 2022 season with a dominant 22-3 victory over Gardner-Webb on Friday evening in Koskinen Stadium.
"The atmosphere tonight was awesome," head coach Kerstin Kimel said. "This was a great night for us and I'm really proud of how our girls played."
The Blue Devils, led by graduate student Catriona Barry and sophomore Katie DeSimone with seven points each, netted 22 goals from 11 different scorers.
Barry tied her career high in goals (4) and assists (3) while DeSimone's six goals are a career high.
