CHICAGO – The fifth-ranked Duke women's tennis team was unable to hold off second-ranked North Carolina in the semifinals of the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, falling by a 4-0 score Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
With the loss, the Blue Devils drop to 7-2 overall as the Tar Heels remain undefeated (9-0) and advance to the championship match for the second straight year.
"I just told the girls that we competed like we have all year," head coach Jamie Ashworth said. "We have to learn to be mentally tougher in big situations.
