DURHAM, N.C. – Senior attackman Justin Guterding totaled four goals and three assists to become the 13th player in NCAA history to reach the 300-point barrier as No. 5 Duke defeated visiting North Carolina, 11-10, in ACC men’s lacrosse action on Friday evening at Koskinen Stadium.
Duke improves to 9-2 overall and 1-1 in ACC action while North Carolina falls to 6-5 overall and 0-1 in league play. The Blue Devils are now 16-4 in their last 20 meetings with the Tar Heels.
“I think the first thing that we will take out of this is the grittiness that was needed to win on a day like today,” said head coach John Danowski.
