CHICAGO – The fifth-ranked Duke women's tennis team defeated sixth-ranked Pepperdine, 4-1, Friday afternoon in round of 16 action at the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago.
With the victory, the Blue Devils improve to 6-1 overall as the Waves suffer their first loss of the season (2-1).
"This was a huge match for us," head coach Jamie Ashworth said. "I told them after the match that it was by far the best match we've played. We really had the willingness, desire and energy to compete the whole time.
