CLEVELAND, Ohio –Duke redshirt senior Jacob Kasper suffered his first setback of the 2018 Division I Wrestling Championships tonight, falling to top-seeded Kyle Snyder by a 10-5 decision. Kasper, a two-time All-American, returns tomorrow to compete in the consolation semifinal.
Fresh off of setting the Duke single-season wins record and becoming a two-time All-American, Kasper met up with reigning NCAA Champion and four-time All-American Snyder of Ohio State for a bid to the national title bout.
It was an even opening two minutes with neither wrestler able to get on the scoreboard. In a scramble in the final minute, Snyder scored the takedown for the 2-0 lead.
