CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Duke senior Charlie van Oirschot scored with 3:20 remaining in overtime to lift the fourth-ranked Blue Devils field hockey squad to a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory at No. 8 Virginia in ACC action Friday night.
The Blue Devils have won nine straight and move to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in league action. Virginia drops to 7-5 on the season and 1-3 in ACC play. This is Duke's fourth overtime win of the season.
Duke scored twice in a span of nine minutes to rally from a late 1-0 deficit to the Cavaliers.
