DURHAM, N.C. – The fourth-ranked Duke women’s tennis team defeated ninth-ranked NC State, 5-2, Wednesday evening under the lights in Ambler Tennis Stadium. The Blue Devils improve to 19-2 overall and 11-1 and the Wolfpack drop to 21-5 and 10-3 in ACC play.
“Today was a good win,” head coach Jamie Ashworth said. “NC State is one of the better teams in the country that we’ve played. I thought the doubles was a little flat. I would like to see us come out with more emotion. I told them after doubles that we had to do a better job at getting on top of them right away in singles.
