DURHAM, N.C. - The No. 3 Duke women's soccer team opened the 2018 campaign in strong fashion Thursday evening inside Koskinen Stadium, blanking No. 23 Ohio State 2-0. Blue Devil freshman Mackenzie Pluck scored the game winner at 47:02 before senior Taylor Racioppi tallied the insurance at 80:25.
Duke redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Brooke Heinsohn registered the shutout, making four saves in the effort.
The Blue Devils kept the pressure on the Buckeyes all night, doubling up the Ohio State shot total by a 16-8 final.
