GREENSBORO, N.C. – A 10-run second inning led No. 3 Duke to a 16-3 run-rule victory over UNC Greensboro on Wednesday at UNCG Softball Stadium.
Graduate student Gisele Tapia led the offense, batting 3-for-4 with two RBI on the night. The trio of Blue Devils finished 2-for-3 at the plate in senior Francesca Frelick, junior Ana Gold and freshman Amiah Burgess. They also combined to drive in eight of Duke's 16 runs.
Sophomore Sophie Garner-MacKinnon earned the start and the win after tossing all five innings.
