ORLANDO, Fla. – On a hot afternoon in the sunshine state, the third-ranked Duke women’s tennis team defeated 22nd-ranked Michigan, 5-2, at the USTA National Campus Collegiate Series in Orlando, Fla. With Duke’s sixth victory over a ranked opponent, the Blue Devils are now 11-2 overall as the Wolverines drop to 5-3.
After dropping the doubles point against North Carolina on Wednesday, the Blue Devils secured the point with a different doubles lineup. Ranked No. 34 by the ITA, Kaitlyn McCarthy and Meible Chi defeated Brienne Minor and Alyvia Jones, 6-1, on court two before Ellyse Hamlin and Kelly Chen notched a 6-3 win on court one over Kate Fahey and Giulia Pairone.
