DURHAM, N.C. – Junior Katie Cronin's career-high five goals lifted No. 23 Duke over No. 12 Virginia, 16-10, Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium.
The win marked Duke's 300 win as a program and snapped a three-game skid versus the Cavaliers.
After a back and forth first half, Duke scored four in a row over a five-minute span midway through the second half to take a 12-7 lead. Virginia was able to respond and pull the game within three, 13-10, but Duke scored three straight to close the game.
Eight different Blue Devils found the back of the net with Cronin leading the side.
