RALEIGH, N.C. – With help from four home runs in the first inning, the 21st-ranked Duke softball picked up a 10-0 shutout victory over NC State in five frames as junior Shelby Walters and freshman Claire Davidson combined for the second no-hitter in program history on Friday evening at the Dail Softball Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Devils improved to 36-10 overall and 23-10 in ACC action as the Wolfpack fell to 25-21 and 15-19 in the five-inning run-rule affair.
Walters earned the start in the circle and pitched two frames in which she struck out two batters and allowed one walk.
