DURHAM – Three Blue Devils notched double-figure scoring efforts, but the 21st-ranked Duke women's basketball team dropped a 78-62 decision to in-state rival North Carolina Thursday evening at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Seniors Elizabeth Balogun and Miela Goodchild each finished the game with a team-high 14 points and freshman Shayeann Day-Wilson added 10 points to lead the Blue Devil (13-5, 4-4 ACC) scoring efforts. Day-Wilson also finished the contest with a team-high eight rebounds and four assists.
The opening 10 minutes was back-and-forth as the lead changed hands six times with neither team able to keep the other at bay.
