TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Duke won the opening set but No. 20 Florida State responded with three straight victories to defeat the Blue Devils, 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17) Sunday afternoon at Tully Gym.
Duke (15-13, 10-8 ACC) posted a .464 hitting percentage in the first set before Florida State’s (22-7, 15-3 ACC) defense settled in. The Seminoles did not allow the Blue Devils to hit over .200 the final three stanzas as Florida State totaled 61 kills to Duke’s 49.
“It was a good, close match,” said head coach Jolene Nagel. “We’re disappointed we couldn’t come up with a win today over a really good Florida State team.
