ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Senior Alex Smalley and sophomore Adrien Pendaries each shot rounds of four-under 68, with Pendaries acing the par-three 17th, to highlight the opening the round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational Friday outside Atlanta.
Pendaries capped his round with the hole-in-one on the 226-yard par-3 17th, ripping a five-iron for his first competitive ace as a Blue Devil. It is the second straight year a Duke player has recorded an ace after Jake Shuman had one at last spring’s Valspar Collegiate Championship.
