SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 12 Duke softball (35-6, 15-2 ACC) used 10 hits and five stolen bases to power past Syracuse, downing the Orange, 5-0, on Friday afternoon at Skytop Softball Stadium.
Peyton St. George (18-3) threw her third solo shutout of the season, allowing just four hits while striking out eight to pick up the win. All nine starters reached base safely on offense, with Kamryn Jackson recording two RBI against the Orange (20-19, 3-14 ACC) to lead the team.
Right out of the gate, the Blue Devils caused problems for Syracuse starter Ariana Adams.
