SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 12 Duke softball (36-7, 16-3 ACC) parlayed some timely small ball and strong pitching into another ACC series win, defeating Syracuse, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at Skytop Softball Stadium.
Peyton St. George (19-3) picked up the win over four scoreless innings pitched, striking out five batters, while Claire Davidson earned her first save with three scoreless frames in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
After a scoreless first inning, the Blue Devils got some life when Davidson reached on an error to lead off the frame.
