DURHAM – No. 12 Duke (12-2, 1-1 ACC) dropped its first ACC contest of the season on Saturday to No. 1 Wake Forest (12-2, 1-1 ACC), 6-3. The Blue Devils scratched across two runs in the top of the ninth, forcing the Demon Deacons to bring in their closer, before grounding out to third base to end the game.
Duke's bullpen held the Demon Deacons scoreless through the final five frames, as a combination of Jackson Emus, Josh Allen and Fran Oschell III allowed three hits and punched out seven.
