INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After a seven-hour delay due to debris on the course, the No. 12 Duke rowing team completed day one of the NCAA Championships Friday afternoon at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, sending the V8 and 2V8 boats to the C/D semifinal and the V4 boat to the A/B semifinal.
In the first Division I heat of the afternoon, Duke raced side by side against Indiana, Yale, California and Ohio State in the Varsity 8. The Blue Devils placed fourth with a time of 6:22.905, and qualified for the C/D semifinal.
In the third heat of the 2V8, Duke jumped out to an early third place lead, trailing Stanford and Texas.
