DURHAM - The 10th-ranked Duke men's fencing team opened the annual Duke Invitational Saturday in Card Gymnasium.
How It Happened
- The Duke men fell to No. 1 Johns Hopkins (DIII) (15-12), No. 3 Brandeis (DIII) (14-13) and Air Force, 14-13.
- Both matches against Brandeis and Air Force were decided by one bout.
- The Blue Devil men were led by a 3-0 showing by the saber squad, including a 9-0 victory over Air Force.
- Samir Travers paced Duke with an 8-1 ledger, while Stephen Kim went 7-2.
